I have just finished reading the second book in a trilogy that has been dubbed, the Gemma Doyle Trilogy. I say 'dubbed' becase it doesn't actually say that on any of the books, they just have the titles (which I think are ingenious). Anyway, I'm totally hooked on these books. I hate to admit it, even to myself, but these are far better than the Warriors books. They are very life-like with feelings and what was like to live in the late 1800s. So, I just thought you guys might like to try them out. The first is called A Great and Terrible Beauty, the second Rebel Angels(just finished this one), the final The Sweet Far Thing(soon to read).
I am afraid that I must consent a warning to those of you younger than 15 or 16. These novels are highly unchildish, and I suggest that, if you truly wish to try reading them, to have a parent/guardian read first. I mean this! The very first book has a dream sequence that is....well, it is not for anyone under 15 or 16.
Tiger, I think you in particular would like these books. I'm not entirely sure why I feel that you would like them...I just, I dunno, for some reason I have thought of you often while reading Rebel Angels. But, I must warn, it is very twisting. It will give you headaches, feelings, thoughts, dreams. It may very well become an obsession.
If any would like a summary of the main plot, I shall give it when asked. But, if you would prefer to look up the trilogy on your own, then be my loving guest!
